Both Terri and I have achieved Credentialed Advanced Mediator status with the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association!
What’s that mean? It means we’re clocking hours in mediation as mediators, observers and mentors with a large and diverse group of peers. Mediation is conflict resolution, a chance to find some piece (and peace) of common ground in order to solve a dispute. A mediator can be any age, as we keep proving! And people who go into mediation often do so because they want to help others. We all come from different backgrounds, some are lawyers or teachers, social workers or psychologists. For many, going into mediation is a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th career, and the wide experiences help us understand the conflicts and help us to help others.
40 – 50 years ago, working in the hot check and credit collection industry, we never would have imagined how that work then would impact the work we do now. Both of us have been teachers, consultants, managers, and more, and now we bring those skills to a table, in person and virtual, as we sit down across from folks from all walks of life dealing with all sorts of issues.
We continue to learn, we continue to help people, and we continue to unlock new levels in our lives.
